On one bleak, piercing cold mid-winter night, while the whole world was wrapped in stillness, the Son of God left His throne in heaven.  Silently He was born, a fragile and tender infant, in immense poverty, in an abandoned cave in Bethlehem.  He was the Prince of Peace.  He was born for a humanity yearning for love, mercy, justice and peace.

Let us burst into joy with praise and gratitude and sing the song of the angels “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will."  The Savior has been born for us!

He came as Peace for those who suffer conflicts and war
Freedom for those in bondage and captivity
Refuge for those who search for home and shelter
Consolation for those who are suffered and sorely tried
  Healing for the sick
  Mercy for sinners
  Food for the hungry.

The Word was made flesh. Alleluia!

May The Virgin Mother help us to adore the mystery of the immense condescension of the Son God.  May she help us to understand the greatest mystery of love and mercy hidden in her frail and voiceless infant Baby.

Dear Friends, we wish you, your family and your loved ones a  joyful celebration of the Birth of Jesus.  May the Prince of Peace fill your hearts  with peace, joy and hope at Christmas and throughout the year.

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year from Mother Anne and your Carmelite Sisters of Terre Haute.
