Clothing of our
Postulant, Jenni

On March 25th, the Feast of the Annunciation, our postulant, Jenni was clothed with the habit of Carmel and received the religious name - Sister Angela of the Sacred Heart

1.pngJenni and Sister Mary Joseph enter the choir as the nuns sing the opening hymn for the Office of the Annunciation.

Mother Anne asks Jenni the traditional question: “Dear Jenni, what do you wish?"  "I wish to try your way of life and am willing to be tested myself for admission to this Discalced Carmelite community of St. Joseph, Terre Haute.  I ask you to teach me to follow Christ crucified and Mary, his mother, according to the Teresian charism."

Mother Anne delivers an exhortation on the transformation involved in taking the habit, while Jenni listens attentively.  Then she clothes Jenni with the white mantle of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Our new Sister Angela of the Sacred Heart is entrusted to Sister Mary Joseph, her novice mistress and then each nun gives Sr. Angela embrace of peace.

Sr. Angela is going to join the Novitiate with with Sr. Christine, Sr. Maria and Sr. Marie Therese.
