For the first time since Covid reorganized our plans, we were able to host a Monastic Experience weekend at the end of May for young women who are seriously discerning a call to religious life. The six women who joined us ages ranged was 21 to 32 and two of them were recent converts.
They entered fully into the weekend by praying the liturgy with us in the Choir, sharing meals with us in our refectory, joining evening recreation, listening to talks on Carmelite Charism, Teresian Prayer, and Discernment, and listening to vocation stories of the young sisters.
Praying the Divine Office with us.
Listening to talks on Teresian Charism, Teresian Prayer, and Discernment
Touring the monastery garden and grounds.
Learning to make rosaries at evening recreation.
Playing different games on Saturday evening.
Sharing a festive meal on the Solemnity of Pentecost
By the end of the Weekend, they were radiant with joy for having spent time with us in our monastery. They left here on the feast of Pentecost, still in discernment, but filled with greater purpose and a deeper desire and determination to follow God wherever He calls them.
We continue to hold them in our prayers and we thank God for the gift of our faith-filled young adults to our Church.
