in honor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
July 8th – July 16th, 2026
Confessions: 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Rosary: 7:00pm, followed by Holy Mass.
Preacher: Father Mark O’Keefe, O.S.B.
Fr. Mark O’Keefe, OSB, is a Benedictine monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey in Indiana. He is Professor of Moral Theology at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology where he served as president-rector from 1996 to 2008. He continues to teach courses in moral theology and in spirituality, specializing in the thought of Saint Teresa of Avila and of Saint John of the Cross.
Fr. Mark is the author of numerous works on the priesthood, moral living, and the spirituality of those two renowned Carmelite Doctors of the Church. His recent publication, The Intimate Sharing of Friends: Saint Teresa of Avila on Prayer, won first place in the Spirituality category at the Association of Catholic Publishers’ “Excellence in Publishing Awards” for 2025. Fr. Mark has served as the resident chaplain for the Carmelite nuns of the Carmel of Saint Joseph in Terre Haute for the last twelve years.
Novena Prayer
O Most Beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of heaven,
Blessed Mother of the Son of God,
Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity.
O Star of the Sea, help me
and show me herein that you are my Mother.
O Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Queen of heaven and earth,
I humbly beseech you
from the bottom of my heart
to succor me in this necessity.
There are none that can withstand your power!
O help me and show me herein that you are my Mother.
Our Lady, Queen and Beauty of Carmel,
pray for me and obtain my requests!
Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands!
